Chancellor and Prime Minister go into autumn without a corona strategy

Chancellor Angela Merkel and the prime ministers focused on one goal at their early Corona summit: They wanted to wake up pandemic and vaccination-tired citizens. A lot was offered, from pleading appeals to new incentives and disadvantages for unvaccinated people. And it is already dawning for some politicians: Once again, it will not be enough.

The question of how the federal and state governments want to deal with Corona in autumn and winter remains unanswered after this Prime Minister’s Conference. A strategy? Nothing.

Merkel and the country leaders have contented themselves with adjusting a few adjusting screws in the infection protection measures so that the willingness to vaccinate may increase somewhat. For all those who are not motivated by friendly words, gentle pressure should help. So the Prime Minister’s Conference decided to phase out the free corona tests for unvaccinated people from mid-October.
