While Euro 2020 and Copa America 2020 have just been postponed during the day, it is a new international competition which has just been postponed. Indeed in a statement, the African Football Confederation announced that the 2020 African Nations Championship which was to take place in Cameroon will be postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
This competition has involved African selections since 2009. The only difference with the CAN, the teams are only made up of players playing within their country. “The principle of postponing CHAN 2020 to a more favorable period has been retained. The new dates for the competition will be decided according to the evolution of the situation and communicated in due time “ announced Cameroonian Sports Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi. The competition was scheduled to take place from April 4 to 25.
