Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane claims Gareth Bale will not play Friday’s Champions League meeting with Manchester City.
Many raised their eyebrows when Real Madrid presented the squad that will face Manchester City in the Champions League on Friday.
Gareth Bale’s name was not to be seen among the players Zinedine Zidane had picked out for the return match, after Manchester City won 2-1 in Madrid.

Zidane: – He did not want to play
At the press conference the day before the quarterfinals, Zidane comes with startling information about the situation.
– A lot has been said, but there is a respectful relationship between club and player, but all I can say is that he would not play. The rest is between me and him, said Zidane.
Bale has received harsh criticism earlier this season for his behavior on the Real Madrid bench, but Zidane maintains that there is no problem with the Welshman.
– Bale has not disappointed me. I’m not going to tell you anything. This is the third question about Gareth. “I just told you what happened,” Zidane said.
Promises a good fight
The Real Madrid coach has in no way given up hope of the quarter-finals, despite a difficult starting point before the meeting with Pep Guardiola and co.
– I do not know what will happen tomorrow. What I can tell you is that it will be a good football match between two very good teams, he said.
The team that emerges victorious from the settlement will face Juventus or Lyon in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
