More active Parisians started on the difficult terrain marked by pre-match hail, who boarded without the injured Kylian Mbappe. In the seventh minute after the center into the penalty area, the ball fell to the hand of Oleksander Zinčenko and the Dutch referee Björn Kuipers pointed to the white point. However, after consulting the VAR, he called off the penalty kick because the Ukrainian defender played with his shoulder. With 11 minutes played, after a good run down the left, Zinčenko went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors’ right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. The Belgians tried to defend PSG only to the catching up Mahrez, who with a shot to the far post overcame Keylora Navas – 1: 0. 17 minutes into the match, Angela Di Mariu came through the middle and almost added to his team’s lead, but the shot went wide. Ander Herrera’s shot from the penalty area did not catch up. Citizens carefully defended and successfully blocked the shots of the guests. In the set time of the first half, Mahrez was able to assert himself for the second time, but he hit Navasa in the legs.

Both teams entered the second half in the same composition. The home team controlled the game and managed to keep a distance from Neymar, who was the leader of the Paris offensive in both quarter-final duels against Bayern Munich. With 54 minutes played, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Navas, of Navas, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The coach of PSG Mauricio Pochettino sent Moise Kean and Julian Draxler to revive the game, but in the 63rd minute the guests collected the second time. After a quick counterattack, De Bruyne pushed out Foden in the corner of the penalty area, who found Mahrez free and he scored from the first into the open goal. The chances of the Parisians for a possible reversal were definitely thwarted by Di Maria. The Argentinian received a red card after 69 minutes for intervening on Fernandinha. In the 77th minute, Foden stamped the pole. In the end, the talented striker left the place to the experienced Sergio Agüer, who will end his many years at Etihad Stadium after the season.

Manchester City players are hoping to win three of these seasonal trophies as they advance to the finals. Pep Guardiol’s charges have already triumphed in the English League Cup and have a Premier League title within reach. They lead 13 points ahead of the city rival Manchester United.
