Maybe it’s because of the genes that BVB striker Erling Haaland could become the outstanding attacker of his generation. Father Alf-Inge has played 34 international matches for Norway and almost 300 appearances in the English Premier League for Nottingham, Leeds and Manchester City. Mama Gry Marita Braut was Norwegian youth champion in pentathlon, the grandmother of one of the country’s greatest talents in the same sport and great-uncle Gabriel Hoyland was also a footballer, with 24 caps for Norway.

But nobody comes close to Erling, the prototype of a center forward. The Norwegian has over 33 km / h on the clock. He is two-footed, has a strong header, and develops enormous power. And, most importantly, it hits the box. The 20-year-old scored 39 goals in his 41 competitive games for BVB, and in 12 games in the Champions League he scored an incredible 16 goals for Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg.

A quota that is second to none. For comparison: The two football players of the last few decades, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, do not even come close to this record: The Barça icon has two goals in his first twelve appearances in the premier class, Ronaldo has not scored a single time.

Today against Sevilla Haaland has the opportunity to extend his start record. But if BVB plays like it did last in the league, then there is nothing to gain against the Andalusians despite the Norwegian elemental force.
