Cesis will host a special basketball game in honor of theater scientist Radzobe – Stage – Culture +

According to Cairo Art Festival Public Relations Manager Mairita Brice, Radzobe has been the creator of the festival’s “Grand Prix” theater show since 2015, selected the most outstanding performances of the season for the program and educated the festival visitors with lectures. Her passion was not only theater and performances, but also basketball.

Radzobe, a literary and theater scholar and theater critic, passed away on April 21 this year, and as a result of the pandemic, the farewells were discreet and personal. On April 29, she would have celebrated her 70th birthday. The festival “Cēsis 2020”, in honor of Radzobi, dedicates a performance to her, which combines her great passions of the last three years: theater, dahlias and basketball. The performance is implemented as a joint project of Daile Theater, Latvian National Theater and Liepaja Theater, and the authors of its idea are actor Vilis Dodiņš and director of Daile Theater Juris Žagars, director Valters Sīlis.

Basketball will be played by theater and sports enthusiasts of different generations and physical fitness – National Theater actors Guntars Grasbergs, Jānis Vimba, Mārcis Manjakovs, Raimonds Celms, New Riga Theater actors Kaspars Znotins, Vilis Dodins, Ivars Krasts, Liepaja Theater Dombrovskis, Daile Theater actors Dainis Grūbe, Juris Žagars, Gints Grāvelis, Artūrs Dīcis, Jānis Strenga, Andris Bulis and Intars Rešetins.

Tickets for the art festival “Cēsis 2020” are available at “Biļešu paradīze” sales points throughout Latvia, on the website “bilesuparadize.lv”, as well as at event venues.
