Central Kalimantan Police Apologizes IG Admin Calls Netizens to Police Headquarters

Police public relations instagram account Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) is in the spotlight on social media. Because, the admin of the account attacked a netizen via direct message (DM) on Instagram.

A screenshot of the DM from the Central Kalimantan Police’s public relations account also circulated on Twitter. In the DM, it was seen that the admin reprimanded netizens who commented using the word ‘kill’. This comment is known to be given in a post related to the Aipda Ambarita mutation.

In addition to reprimanding, the admin of the Central Kalimantan Police Public Relations account also asked the netizen to come to the Central Kalimantan Police Public Relations Office. The two also seemed to be debating the meaning of the word ‘dead’.

In response to this, Public Relations Polda Central Kalimantan through his official twitter account to apologize.

“I, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Police, apologize for the actions of the Central Kalimantan Police Public Relations admin which was not pleasing to the hearts of all netizens, we thank you for the criticism that builds the Indonesian National Police and the Central Kalimantan Police to be better at it,” he wrote.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Police (Central Kalimantan) Kombes Pol K Eko Saputro said the Central Kalimantan Police Public Relations Instagram admin did not coordinate when doing DMs. The admin, who has the initials Bripda BG, is said to have been provoked by emotion when he answered.

“Yes, he just answered, didn’t coordinate with me, didn’t report anything. He personally responded to comments from netizens. Maybe he was emotional, he answered in DM,” said Eko when contacted, Wednesday (20/10/2021).

Eko admitted that he had reprimanded his members regarding this matter. He acknowledged the mistakes made by Bripda BG, and apologized for the incident.

“Yes, I reprimand my members, I instruct them if the comments on medsos are not like that. If they are criticized, reply by saying ‘thank you for entering, we will provide better service to the community’, not emotional issues like that,” said Eko.

“That’s what my member did, he was wrong. On behalf of the Central Kalimantan Police, I apologize to the netizen, the netizen is also kind, responding, both apologize (because it has gone viral). Through the Central Kalimantan Police Public Relations account, I ask for forgiveness. ( DM members) is wrong,” he continued.

Eko said Bripda BG would later make a report containing an explanation regarding his actions. The report will be submitted and responded to by Propam.

“Later a report will be made by him, a police report, so that he explains why he did that. After that Propam will process it. Yes, he made a report, on that date, who, where, at what time, did what wrong, why, why?” “At that time, what was the condition? We will submit the report to Propam to check whether the code of ethics violations have been met,” he said.
