Central Java Leads the Highest Case of Covid, Governor Ganjar Says this

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Towards the end of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) tomorrow, Monday 2 August 2021, Covid-19 cases in Indonesia as of yesterday, Saturday (07/31/2021), were still high, increasing by 37,284 cases, based on data from the Ministry of Health.

In total, the number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 3,409,658 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

The highest cases came from Central Java which recorded 4,896 new cases. Thus, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Central Java has reached 381,887 cases since the start of the pandemic.

The recovery rate in Central Java is 4,592 people, bringing the total Covid-19 survivors to 305,397 people. Unfortunately, the number of deaths is still high, with an increase of 316 people, bringing the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 to 19,343 people.

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, also spoke up. But according to him, in the last few days the trend has been declining. But he emphasized that Covid-19 was not over and still dangerous. Therefore, he also invited the public to continue to comply with health protocols.

“The latest news from Central Java, the results of the examination that almost all of the tested variants were delta. This means that all of them have the potential to be exposed. We are starting to find them without symptoms. In the statistics, who died in Central Java so many? Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD also asked the people of Central Java to work together to improve the discipline of health protocols.

“We need the support and intermediaries of religious scholars, boarding school caregivers, religious leaders to support improving health implementation and accelerating vaccination in the community,” said Mahfud MD in the same forum.

According to Mahfud, strengthening collaboration to work collectively based on shared awareness is a fairly effective step.

“It is also impossible for religious mass organizations and various community forces to be left to work alone, let’s strengthen collaboration,” added Mahfud.

Regarding public disobedience to health protocols, according to Mahfud, because people don’t know and because they are influenced by hoaxes. Therefore, a cultural and personal approach is needed.
