For her birth, little Inna took her parents, Cécile Lotte and Baptiste Martin by surprise. She was born on May 11, 2021 in the parking lot of the hospital in the city of Eu. (© Cécile Lotte)
Beautician in Mers-les-Bains (Somme), Cecile Lotte had a magical moment for the birth of her second daughter on May 11, 2021.
She did not give birth at the Dieppe maternity but on the parking lot of the hospital of the city of Eu (Seine-Maritime) because pretty Inna was in too much of a hurry to be born.
Contractions at 4 a.m., delivery at 6.30 a.m.
Eight days before the due date, Cécile felt contractions at 4 am. Nothing to worry about for Miya’s mom, 5 and a half.
But at 5:30 a.m., the situation changed. She contacts the maternity ward who advises her to take an analgesic and go back to bed.
What she does. But 30 minutes later, the young woman has a major contraction. “I felt the labor was starting,” she recalls.
On the road to motherhood, the couple turns around
A shower later, she takes over the management of the maternity ward of the Dieppe hospital with her husband. But on the road, there is a new unforeseen: “Between Etalondes and Criel-sur-Mer, I felt that my baby was going to come out”.
She therefore called the Dieppe hospital to explain the situation. “I asked if I could go to the hospital in the city of Eu even though I knew that there was no longer a maternity ward.”
“The head was already out”
She also follows the advice of the maternity ward by contacting the Samu.
The couple ended up arriving in the parking lot of the Eudois hospital without incident. While Cécile’s spouse goes to the emergency room, the young woman, installed in the passenger seat of the car, continues to push.
“When Baptiste came back with someone from the hospital, my baby’s head had already come out. She just had time to open the door and receive the baby, who was therefore born at 6.30 am ”.
From joke to reality
A first skin-to-skin contact between mother and little Inna takes place in the car. “We turned on the heating because it wasn’t hot,” smiles the 30-year-old mother.
An incredible birth and the memory of a joke released a few weeks earlier to those around him:
“The birth of my first daughter happened very quickly, without an epidural. I knew it would be the same for the second. As a joke, I said that all I would miss is that I give birth in the car this time ”.
Looking back, Cécile is delighted to have experienced an extraordinary, uncomplicated childbirth in the presence of her husband.
Positive to Covid
Having contracted the Covid Both ten days earlier, Baptiste could not have been at the mother’s side if the birth had taken place in the maternity ward.
A situation that had upset Cécile when she learned about it: “But luckily, he was able to live this moment with me. He was even able to cut the cord ”.
With its 51 cm and its 3.320 kg, the pretty Inna immediately conquered the hearts of her parents.
On her little cloud, Cécile was quickly brought back to reality. After getting out of the car, she was taken to the hospital, on a stretcher with her daughter.
The dad was able to choose the first clothes for his princess while the mum faced another difficulty.
Transferred to Dieppe hospital
“My placenta wouldn’t come out,” she says. At around 8:30 a.m., she was transferred to theDieppe hospital for support in the appropriate service.
She left the establishment on May 17 with her baby, who is now the joy of the whole family, and the pride of her half-brother Keylian, aged 5 and a half.
