A new report published by the Centers for Control and Prevention of Diseases of the USA provides information on mortality by covid-19 in the population in the united States.

The latest figures confirm that the older people, minorities and people with pre-existing health conditions are at the greatest risk of dying by cause of the coronavirus.

The CDC counted a total of 1,761,503 cases covid-19 and 103,700-related deaths in the country between the 22 of January, when it was confirmed the first case, and the may 30, according to the report. In general, 184,673 (14%) patients were hospitalized, 29,837 (2%) were admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) and 71,116 (5%) died.

The data come from local sources, state and federal laws and are consistent with those reported through the Resource center of Coronavirus from the Johns Hopkins University.

The report comes just after a week in which the number of cases in the country exceeded 2 million.
