[이코노믹리뷰=곽예지 기자] On February 28 (local time), the Vaccination Advisory Committee (ACIP), an advisory body of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), made a decision on recommending vaccination for Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccines.

The decision to make the recommendation follows on the previous day (27th) after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the urgent use of the J&J vaccine. Now, the administrative procedures necessary for the use of the vaccine are only signed by the CDC Director’s recommendation.

ACIP held a meeting that day and made a decision to recommend J&J vaccination to those over 18 years of age.

As a result, the J&J vaccine became the third Corona 19 vaccine approved by the FDA for emergency use after Modena and Pfizer vaccines.

In particular, unlike Pfizer and Modena’s vaccine, which requires two doses, the J&J vaccine ends with a single dose, and it is not necessary to keep frozen.

Delivery of the J&J vaccine will begin soon, and 4 million doses will be distributed to hospitals and pharmacies during the week, and 20 million doses will be supplied to the United States by the end of this month and 100 million doses during the first half of this year.
