Castanet-Tolosan residents have a chance to enjoy an evening of comedy while supporting a vital cause: the education of children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Péchabou Théâtre en Plain-Chant troupe will premiere its latest production, a contemporary comedic play, on Saturday, November 29th, at 8:30 p.m. at the Espace Brel.
The performance centers around charles, a literature professor wiht a fondness for Baudelaire, and his acquisition of Tobie, a humanoid robot intended to assist with research and everyday life. The play explores the evolving relationship between the professor and his increasingly complex assistant, questioning the boundaries between artificial intelligence and genuine sentience. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Goma Espérance, an association dedicated to improving educational opportunities for disadvantaged children in Goma, DRC.
Goma Espérance directly supports a local school by providing essential resources, including educational materials, nutritious meals, and enriching extracurricular activities. the organization’s work empowers young people in Goma, offering them pathways to a brighter future. Tickets are priced at €10, with a reduced rate of €5 for those aged 12 to 18, and free admission for children under 12. they will be available for purchase on-site via check or cash payment.
