Cast, release date… What we know about season 4 of “Manifest”

Ben’s interpreter, Josh Dallas, revealed crucial information on the fourth season of Manifest.

Whether it’s the series or its characters, it’s all about survivors. In 2021 and after three seasons that have thrilled viewers, NBC is canceling Manifest. The fans do not admit defeat and decide to launch several petitions for another platform to offer a sequel to their favorite show. Social media is ablaze with hashtags and posts, and writer Stephen King is even tweeting with the #SaveManifest. Faced with this craze, Netflix ends up answering the call. A year after its cancellation, the series is finally saved.

The first three seasons are added to the catalog of the firm at the big N, and they are a hit. Subscribers binge episodes without restraint, and Manifest quickly appears in the top 10 of the most viewed series. The platform will indeed offer a conclusion to this original creation, and it has already ordered a season 4 which will be broadcast in two parts.

A two-year time jump

As a reminder, the series focuses on the passengers of flight 828. After a vacation in Jamaica, they return to New York. A storm broke in mid-flight, but the plane ended up landing safely on American soil. For those on board the aircraft, only a few hours have passed. For the rest of the world, five years have passed. The passengers will try to understand what happened and why they hear voices, “inner calls”, since their return.

The series was originally supposed to span six seasons and end on the fateful date for the characters, June 2, 2024. However, the change in platform changed all plans. The creators of the show will finally have only one last season and 20 episodes to conclude their story. Faced with this new constraint, they had to make a screenplay choice.

Ben’s interpreter, Josh Dallas, explains in an interview that they made the decision to make a jump in time by two years, so that the plot of this fourth salvo takes place in 2024. This choice necessarily implies a change in casting. Eden, the daughter of Ben and Grace, will be played by the Plato twins and Caleb will be played by Ty Doran, who we saw during the last seconds of season 3.

The first episodes unveiled at the end of the year

[Attention, spoilers] As a reminder, the last episode ended with the death of Grace. We should therefore find a bereaved Ben, who is trying to get out of it thanks to his family. He will continue his investigation of the passengers of Flight 828 to try to obtain answers, and his son could be a solid element in discovering the truth. Indeed, after hitting part of the plane and disappearing, Caleb seems to know exactly what the passengers should do.

The filming of the first ten episodes was completed a few weeks ago, and they should be broadcast on Netflix by the end of the year. However, subscribers will have to wait until 2023 to binge the last ten and finally find out the full truth about this mysterious story.
