UBS had to deal with technical problems today. In the morning there was a major system failure. All e-banking via desktop PCs and cell phones were affected, as was cash withdrawals from ATMs and deposits. However, the problems have now been resolved. The bills can be paid as normal again via e-banking.

“Because of technical problems, this service is not available at the moment,” it said until after noon when they tried to log in for e-banking. Furthermore, hundreds of internal applications would not run, such as the portal “Inside Paradeplatz” reported.

System had to be restarted
But why did it take several hours to fix the problem? UBS did need to restart the system, explains a spokeswoman. And that took time. There were no problems when paying by credit or debit card, as this is done via the SIX services.

The payment provider Twint was partly solved by the technical problems. Twint did not want to comment on this, however. (Bro)
