CASE BOARD – Colonel Guzmán Peralta was interrogated last night; confesses spoke with technician prior to electoral failure

The interrogations of Colonel Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, who is accused of having knowledge about an alleged election sabotage, ended Tuesday night at about 10:00.

Two prosecutors participated in the interrogations, one from the Public Prosecutor’s Office belonging to the Santo Domingo province and the other with a function so far unknown.

Guzmán Peralta was assigned a month and a half ago to the presidential candidate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Luis Abinader.

In these interrogations the colonel confirmed that he had communication with Claro’s technician, Manuel Antonio Regalado, who allegedly knew about the ruling on the voting system.

He was also interrogated in the presence of his lawyers Antoliano Peralta Romero, Luis Soto and Eusebio Polanco.

According to one of his lawyers, Antoliano Peralta, the colonel collaborated with all the information that was required.

The colonel said that his only link to the facts under investigation is to have received this information but that he was not an eyewitness to any specific event.

It is expected that once the legal term of the 48 hours of detention has elapsed, the National Police will have your freedom or that the Public Ministry will present a measure of coercion, both of which are unknown until now.

Last Sunday, February 16, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) announced the suspension of municipal elections due to failures presented in the automated voting system.
