CAS confirms disqualification of Nicole Walker at the Pan-Am-Games, Olympic-Aus for Canada –

The International Court of Justice (CAS) has confirmed that the disqualification for doping the Canadian show jumper Nicole Walker from the Pan-American Games was legal. This means that Canada cannot take part in the Olympic Games.

A breakdown product of cocaine, Benzoylecgonine, was found in Nicole Walker’s doping test on August 7, 2019. She was then disqualified and her results canceled. The Canadian team, which would have secured qualification for Tokyo with their fourth place, fell back and lost their place at the Olympics.

Nicole Walker went to the CAS with the support of the Canadian Equestrian Association with the aim of reversing the decision of the tournament organizers. Vain. The CAS dismissed the appeal after hearings on December 21 and 23.

The CAS wants to send the reasons for its judgment to those involved in the coming weeks, according to the relevant press release. Nicole Walker argued that the positive sample came about because she drank coca tea.

Instead of Canada, Argentina was able to qualify a team for Tokyo.
