Carson Valley Little League 12U Clinches District 1 Championship, Heads too State Tournament
Carson Valley Little LeagueS 12U All-Star team has achieved a critically important milestone, securing the District 1 Championship title after an undefeated run through bracket play. This victory propels the team to the Nevada State Tournament, marking a triumphant turnaround after two consecutive years as district runners-up.The path to the championship was paved with remarkable performances, including a decisive 12-0 shutout against Reno American and a nail-biting 6-5 extra-inning victory over Sparks Centennial. The team further solidified their dominance with back-to-back wins against their rivals, Washoe, triumphing 11-6 in the semifinals and ultimately clinching the title with a 5-2 win in the championship game. Their momentum was evident from the outset,as they outscored opponents 59-16 across five pool play games,setting a powerful precedent for their championship aspirations.The Nevada State Tournament is scheduled to take place from July 24-27 at the Terrace Sports Complex in Reno. There, the Carson Valley 12U team will face top contenders from Districts 2, 3, and 4, all vying for the state championship.
