MANCHESTER, England (AP) – Michael Carrick will coach Manchester United in Thursday’s Premier League game against Arsenal as interim manager Ralf Rangnick is still waiting to receive his work visa.
Carrick has been at the helm of the team following the firing of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on November 21, with him managing a couple of games. First was the 2-0 away victory at Villarreal in the Champions League and then the 1-1 away draw against Chelsea in the Premier League.
United confirmed on Monday that Rangnick has been hired as a manager until the end of the season. The German was working in Russia as a sports director for Lokomotiv Moscow.
“As long as the club complies with the visa process, Carrick will remain in charge,” United said Tuesday.
United will be local to Arsenal for the 14th date of the Premier.
