Retail chain Carrefour has recalled its own brand of vanilla ice cream due to excessive residue levels of the crop protection agent ethylene oxide. This is reported by the retail chain.

After an inspection, Carrefour has decided in consultation with the federal food agency (FAVV) to withdraw the frozen product from sale and to recall it from the consumer.

More specifically, it concerns the product Carrefour Vanilla Ice Cream of 1 liter, with lot numbers PL1103 and PL1104 and a minimum best-before date until 30/04/2023.

Those who have already purchased the product are asked not to consume it and to return it to the store for a refund. More information via the customer service of Carrefour Belgium on 0800/9.110.11.
