The Carolina Hurricanes celebrated a narrow win at the resumption of the NHL season – which ended with no player support for the Black Lives Matters movement. The Hurricanes won the first of five possible duels against New York Rangers 3-2 on Saturday in Toronto.
Carolina is 1-0 lead thanks to the win in the best-of-5 series. The winner of the duel moves on to the play-off round of 16. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, which led to an almost five-month break in the season, only Toronto and Edmonton will be played without spectators. The Stanley Cup winner will be determined in October.
The Philadelphia Flyers with Michael Raffl and the Arizona Coyotes by Michael Grabner join the action on Sunday.
