Carolina Herrera declares her love for New York in her new collection

New York – The fashion house Carolina Herrera presented its autumn-winter 2021 collection this Tuesday through a music video in which it declares its love for New York City, with a group of models who wear their feminine and colorful proposals while visiting the most iconic places in the Big Apple on a snowy day.

“Now that Carolina Herrera’s 40th anniversary is approaching, we have conceived the Fall 2021 collection as a love letter to New York. I’ve found inspiration in the effervescent attitude of New Yorkers, especially those who bring our atelier to life in the Fashion District, ”Creative Director Wes Gordon said in a note.

The fashion firm founded by the Venezuelan Carolina Herrera participated in the New York “Fashion Week”, which in this edition has blurred the limits of its calendar due to the coronavirus pandemic, releasing the video recorded on its website and social networks the Empire State Building, the One Vanderbilt Building and Times Square.

The collection combines the «weakness for the sportswear of New York fashion and the theatrical elegance of Carolina Herrera’s atelier», with polka dot or giraffe prints in an «optimistic color palette» that also has the heart as a graphic motif.

“Technicolor sequins and pink and red tulle pops herald sunnier days, full of joy and togetherness,” said Gordon, who was handed over as creative director by Herrera in 2018.

In the video, which is set against the disco music of Odyssey’s Native New Yorker (1977), a New York tour bus intervened with Carolina Herrera’s iconic red color carries several models on its panoramic deck while snowflakes fall .

The company explained that it has donated funds to support the volunteer network of the NY Forever organization, dedicated to providing food to New Yorkers living in insecurity and creating meaningful links with isolated groups. (ag)
