Mild temperatures

It will be a stable weekend where only the possibility of some light rain is contemplated on Saturday in the Levante and Balearic Islands, and on Sunday in Galicia due to the arrival of a cold front, not very powerful, Rubén del Campo has advanced to Efeverde , spokesperson for the Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet).

The fog will be the protagonist in areas of the Alto Ebro, the Basque Country, La Rioja and in the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys, where they can become persistent, the meteorologist pointed out.

Regarding the wind, it will blow with intervals of strong wind on Saturday in Ampurdán, Mallorca and Menorca, where tomorrow the orange alert is activated for adverse coastal phenomena and waves of between 3 and 5 meters, and yellow alert for gusts that will exceed 80 kilometers per hour.

Del Campo has indicated that temperatures will drop today, especially in the north and in the center of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, and it will do so in a “Extraordinary” in northern areas of Castilla y León, especially in the province of León, where the maximums will suddenly drop to 10 degrees Celsius.

By province capitals, Malaga and Badajoz will reach the maximum today with 21 degrees, followed by Alicante, Almería, Cáceres, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Madrid, Pontevedra, Seville, Toledo and Valencia, where the thermometer will oscillate between 17 and 20 degrees.

The coldest day will be recorded in Burgos and Soria with 8 and 9 degrees respectively.

Weekend

Tomorrow, temperatures will rise again where they had dropped the most, in much of the north of the peninsula, in the Cantabrian Sea and in the Alto Ebro, said Del Campo, who explained that it is a “thermal slide”, maximum and minimums that rise and fall in a short space of time.

During Carnival Saturday, Badajoz will once again register 21 degrees followed by Murcia and Ourense with 20 degrees while Huesca will be the coldest with 12 degrees followed by Burgos, San Sebastián, Lleida, Palencia and Segovia with 14 degrees.

On Sunday, daytime temperatures will rise in the eastern third of the peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, they will fall in the western third and will remain unchanged in the rest; at night there will be an ascent in the center and in the north of the peninsula, although there will be weak frosts on the plateau, the Iberian System and the Pyrenees.

With regard to the Canaries, during these carnival days – Saturday, February 25 to Thursday, March 2 – moderate northeast trade winds are expected, which will produce more cloudiness in the north of the islands and some light rain.
