Carlos Martnez not playing on Sunday because of the fear clause

Hercules will not face Carlos Martínez this Sunday. The Blue and Whites’ club sold Andorra to the attacker on January with one condition, that he not play the game of Rico Pérez. The small print of the signing, popularly known as “the fear clause”, will take effect this day and the Principality club will arrive even more weakened this week in Alicante, after not having won in its last seven games. Then, he was third classified and was one point away from the lead.

Andorra, who already tempted Carlos Martínez last summer, signed the Catalan striker in January and Hercules barely received 5,000 euros as a transfer. Instead, the Blue and Whites’ club signed Greek Nikos Vergos, who arrived in Alicante on loan from Panathinaikos until the end of the season.

That “clause of fear” was also established by Hercules in the transfer to the Orihuela of the youth team player Víctor Olmedo and the footballer saw the fifth yellow card in the game prior to the Alicante derby a few weeks ago.

Carlos Martínez overcame the moral barrier hovering around the Hercules forwards last season, unable to score more than 10 goals in a single season in Segunda División B. The footballer, signed by Portillo in the summer of 2018, scored 13 goals in his first year as blue and white, under the orders of Planagumà. This season he scored six goals and remains the top scorer for Hercules so far this year. Behind, the four goals added by forwards Jona and Benja. With three, Yeray and Borja, who is not in the club either.

Jesús Muñoz, to Almería

Hercules coach Jesús Muñoz signed this weekend for Almería to join Guti’s coaching staff. Muñoz was fired in December after losing at Espanyol B’s home and after 11 days on the Alicante bench. With him in front, the Hercules had the first victories of the season, but the team dropped and left, along with sports director Javier Portillo, after six weeks without a win.

Lateral Felipe fears another fiber break in the ischium

The lateral Felipe Alfonso will undergo various tests today to diagnose the extent of the injury he suffered last Saturday at Barça B. The footballer, who has barely played eight games with Hercules throughout the season, fears a break in the hamstring. Even in the best of cases, it will be a safe loss for the game this Sunday. In September, he underwent surgery for a hernia, and later was also on leave due to a blow to the ribs.
