The channel Caracol Television reported on Tuesday that the presenter of the morning program ‘Day by Day’, Carlos Calero, tested positive for covid-19.
Through a statement, the company noted that, despite not showing symptoms, Calero is recovering at his residence and it is taking the measures recommended by the health authorities.
Similarly, the company mentioned that the people who were in contact with the presenter will be in preventive isolation and with permanent health monitoring.
Caracol also announced that, starting on Wednesday, July 8, the magazine will continue its production and transmission with channel support equipment.

“From Caracol Television we wish Carlos a speedy recovery,” the statement concluded.
The Barranquillero also serves as presenter of the reality show ‘Yo me llamo’.

The program ‘Día a Día’ resumed its production in previous weeks after the pandemic of the new coronavirus and the national quarantine caused difficulties for the realization of this television space.
Calero, who returned to Canal Caracol in this 2020, was precisely the presenter designated to lead, from April 28, Day by Day ‘from the main set of production in this stage after the cessation of recordings, while his compañeras participated from their homes.

Day by day, which is broadcast from Monday to Friday between 9:30 am to 10:30 am, it has presenters such as Catalina Gómez, Carolina Cruz and Carolina Soto, who have accompanied Calero in sections of contests, messages from viewers, home tips, exercise routines, beauty recommendations, recipes and interviews with singers, actors and other Colombian and regional celebrities.
Calero is also known for having been part of contest programs such as ‘The wheel of fortune’ and ‘Hard against the world’, in addition to presenting the National Beauty Contest for him RCN Channel.
In 2016, the 51-year-old presenter obtained a diplomatic post as consul in the city of San Francisco (United States), position in which he worked until 2017.
