LOCHEM – On Friday evening, August 12 at 7 pm, city carillonneur Jan-Geert Heuvelman and pianist Boudewijn Zwart will give the last concert of the summer season 2022 in the tower of the Grote or St. Gudula Church.

Boudewijn Zwart studied piano as a major at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam and carillon at the Dutch Carillon School in Amersfoort. In 1990 he was first prize winner of the ‘Queen Fabiola’ competition in Mechelen (Belgium). He is the city carillonneur of Apeldoorn, Barneveld, Gouda, Amsterdam, Dordrecht and Nijkerk and works as an organist, pianist and composer. Jan-Geert Heuvelman (1984) studied organ with Reitze Smits at the Utrecht Conservatory and carillon with Bernard Winsemius, Henk Verhoef and Frans Haagen at the Dutch Carillon School. He also took lessons in choral conducting with Rob Vermeulen and Klaas Stok and studied school music at the ArtEZ conservatory in Zwolle.
Jan-Geert is organist of the Noorderkerk in Rijssen and city carillonneur of Lochem en Rijssen. He is a music teacher at the Van Lodenstein College in Amersfoort. He is also conductor of the Vocal Ensemble Rijssen and the youth choir Sjaloom.

Program
The two musicians will present a very varied program with operetta music by Franz Léhar, a trio sonata by Johann Sebastian Bach, London Scenes by Dick Sanderman and the Suite Populair, an own arrangement with numerous well-known pop melodies.

The carillon concerts, organized by the Gudula Cultural Foundation, can be heard on the terraces and in the streets around the market in Lochem. At the foot of the tower is a collection box for a voluntary contribution.
