Name of Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo suddenly lively discussed after being found guilty and exceeded his authority to issue a travel document to help the fugitive Djoko Tjandra travel.
It is known, Prasetijo is an official at the National Police Headquarters (Indonesian Headquarters). He is now removed by the National Police Chief from his position as Head of the Policing and Monitoring PPNS Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
The high-ranking officer was undergoing an inspection by the Professional and Security Division (Polri) and was detained for 14 days in a special room at the Police Headquarters Provos.
Prasetijo is a graduate of the Police Academy in 1991. He is of the same rank as his leader, Head of the Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) National Police Commissioner General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Prasetijo began his career as Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Garut and Bandar Lampung Resort Police, Gambir Police Chief, and Mojokerto Police Chief. Then, Prasetijo had held the position of Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police and the Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the South Sumatra Regional Police.
Not only working in the Regional Police, he had also held a number of positions at the National Police Headquarters. For example, he has served as the Head of the NCB Interpol Indonesia Set of Committees and the Head of the International Mission Bureau in the International Relations Division.
And finally he served as Head of the PPNS Coordination and Oversight Bureau which made him stumble over problems.
After being removed from his position, Prasetijo is now being intensively examined by the National Police. In fact, Kabareskrim stressed that it would investigate the case to the criminal domain.
According to him, from the whole series of incidents of issuance of the letter of jakan, criminal elements that were violated by the police general can be found. So, handling is not limited to disciplinary sanctions or violations of the code of ethics.
“So I have formed a special team consisting of the Directorate of General Crimes, the Directorate of Corruption, the Directorate of Cyber and we asked to be accompanied by Propam to process criminal acts,” Listyo told reporters at the Police Criminal Investigation Building, Jakarta, Thursday (16/7).
The issuance of a travel permit from the Bureau under the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) was one of the ways Djoko smoothed his steps into Indonesia last June.
From there he also took care of e-KTP in Kelurahan Grogol Selatan, South Jakarta. With this e-KTP he also registered his case (PK) in the South Jakarta District Court.
