The family was startled at around 3.15 pm by a fire in their vehicle, near the Buren interchange. The occupants were taken care of by ambulance personnel. Their car was completely burnt out and the fire brigade is currently still working on extinguishing the fire. The accident also damaged the asphalt.

Part of the A1 is closed and traffic has to make a detour. There is a traffic jam from the German border in the direction of Hengelo.
