Numerous noise nuisance and property damage incidents were reported to the police between Thursday and Sunday. The call center at 117 was sometimes overloaded, causing an extended waiting period for certain interventions.
The Vaud police have been very active in the canton in recent days.

From Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 June, hundreds of requests were sent to the police in the canton of Vaud for various disturbances of public order, mainly during the night. The most affected cities were Aigle, Montreux, Vevey, Lausanne, Morges, Nyon and Yverdon.
Most of the cases reported concerned significant noise pollution. These incivilities were sometimes accompanied by jets of bottles on the ground, said the Vaud cantonal police on Monday in a press release.
Depredations on several vehicles were also committed in Gland. In Lausanne, the police were contacted almost 80 times between Saturday and Sunday for disturbances of public tranquility.
Overloaded call centers
The hundreds of telephone calls received by the 117 during these four nights caused the central offices to be overloaded. The engagement of patrols on certain interventions has sometimes been delayed.
The Vaud police recall the campaign “Party – Less decibels for mutual respect – Heading” which was launched recently with the aim of raising awareness of noisy night owls.
