BJ Government Backs “Pink Caravan” to Distribute 3,200 Breast Cancer Screening Passes
Baja California’s state government is supporting the “Pink Caravan,” a mobile breast cancer prevention initiative, to deliver 3,200 free screening passes across 16 locations throughout the country in 2025. An additional 200 passes will be allocated specifically for Cancun. The program aims to increase early detection rates and improve outcomes for women affected by breast cancer, a leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in Mexico.
The “Pink Caravan” initiative addresses a critical public health need in Mexico, where access to timely and affordable breast cancer screenings remains a critically important challenge for many women. By bringing mobile screening units directly to communities, the program overcomes geographical barriers and logistical hurdles, ensuring more women have the opportunity to receive potentially life-saving examinations. The distribution of these 3,400 passes represents a substantial investment in preventative care and underscores the BJ government’s commitment to reducing the burden of breast cancer within the region and nationally.
