At airports in our area there are more than 50 cancellations and almost as many delays.

Airline staffing issues continue to be the main reason along with some weather issues.

On Friday, Transportation Security Administration officials searched nearly 2.5 million people at US airports.

The TSA said yesterday in a tweet that this holiday sees the highest number of travelers passing through security checkpoints.

This is more than two and a half million travelers since February 11, 2020, which represents the same number as before the pandemic.

So far this year, three and a half percent of US airline flights have been canceled.

That number is up more than 40 percent compared to 2019.
