Canarias activates the “special surveillance” of the mask with penalties for non-compliance of up to 100 euros | Radio Club Tenerife

The Canary Islands have warned this Friday that this weekend it will activate the “special vigilance” on the use of the mask, with penalties in case of non-compliance of up to 100 euros.

“This garment is mandatory on the islands in all open and closed spaces where the minimum interpersonal distance of 1.5 meters cannot be kept”, recalls the regional executive in a press release.

Specifically, the Government of the Canary Islands has advanced that it will “special vigilance in recreational and festive gatherings such as bars, discos, parties in villas or celebrations in open spaces”.

This deployment will be carried out by members of the Canarian Police, Local Police and State Security Forces. “In spaces such as shopping centers, the mask is mandatory since it is not possible to always guarantee that distance”, affect, to also remember that this obligation “it joins the hygiene and hand washing measures necessary to reinforce social and individual action against the transmission of the virus “.

This physical protection measure against COVID-19 obligatorily affects all population over six years of age, except for the situations excepted by the Royal Decree Law 21/2020, such as presenting some type of respiratory disease, disability or dependence and the exercise of individual sport in the open air, among others, provided they are duly justified.

The Government of the Canary Islands does not rule out having to adopt other measures “more restrictive, if these were insufficient in the face of a change in the scenario of the pandemic in the Canary Islands “.
