Canam Group acquires Supermétal

(Montreal) A division of Canam Group got its hands on the structural and metal specialist Supermétal as well as its some 550 employees for an amount that was not disclosed.

This acquisition, announced Thursday, should allow Canam Ponts to increase its production capacity as well as its product offering, she explained in a press release.

Founded at the end of the 1950s and established in Lévis, Supermétal operates three framing and metal structures factories located in Lévis, Sherbrooke, Montreal and in Alberta. The company also owns an engineering and design office in the Philippines.

Supermétal has worked on stadiums, airports, bridges and buildings projects across North America.

Established in Saint-Georges, Beauce, Canam Group, which specializes in the design and manufacture of steel structures, has more than 2,675 employees and operates seven factories in Canada as well as one south of the border.

Its engineering offices are located in Canada, Romania and India.
