Air India Crash in Ahmedabad: Over 240 Feared Dead, Canadian Citizen Among Victims
Ahmedabad, India – June 13, 2025 – A devastating Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad has claimed the lives of at least 241 people, with one survivor. The London-bound Boeing 787 Dreamliner went down shortly after takeoff on Thursday, June 12th, in a residential area of the city, marking one of India’s worst airline disasters in decades [[3]].

Tragically, the sole Canadian citizen on board has been identified as 32-year-old Nirali Patel, an Indian-origin dentist residing in etobicoke, Toronto. She was returning to Canada from a “social trip” in India [[source]].Her husband is reportedly traveling to India with their one-year-old child.
