The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority signed the Builders Code Pledge, an agreement that aims to lay the groundwork for the fair and safe treatment of all employees and contractors at workplaces in British columbia through the Builders Code Acceptable Workplace Standards.

“By signing the commitment, the port authority supports safer construction working conditions, while demonstrating leadership in the industry as an organization that builds large-scale infrastructure projects,” said the port entity.

Likewise, the port stated that “we are proud to sign the commitment to guarantee safe and equitable working conditions for employees and contractors at our infrastructure project work sites.”

The Builders Code, an initiative led by the British Columbia Building Association, sets a standard of excellence to reduce risk and ensure a safe and productive environment for all workers.

Signing the pledge is a way to deliver high-quality, trade-enabled infrastructure projects, taking into account industry best practices.
