Can PSVR 2 impress with quality? Sony showed the prototype of the goggles with 4K OLED micro displays

Sony is preparing to unveil PlayStation VR 2, but quite unexpectedly, the Japanese today showed a prototype of goggles, the capabilities of which would certainly be very well received by players. The company focuses on the latest technology.

Sony announced the development of the next-gen VR goggles a few months ago, but we are still waiting for a specific presentation of the equipment. However, we can be sure that the Japanese are still developing their proposal and today a very interesting device was shown during the “Sony Technology Day”.

Yasuka Ishihara and Kei Kimura, Sony engineers, unveiled a prototype of the VR goggles that uses two 4K micro displays and the latest ultra-low latency technology. The prototype device offers a total of 8K resolution (4K per eye).

However, it is difficult to say whether there is a possibility that Sony would decide to implement these solutions in PlayStation VR 2. It is definitely worth paying attention to the image quality – the Sony prototype offers two small OLED 4K displays the size of a postage stamp.

It remains only to wait for the official announcement of PlayStation VR 2, but as you can see Sony is still developing the proposal to be able to provide players with a great experience.
