Campaign closes – Abinader and Collado close the PRM campaign in the capital

The presidential candidate for the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Luis Abinader, declared yesterday that he does not want more than 60% of the votes in the elections of July 5, during his campaign closure in the National District, where he shared the platform with the former mayor David Collado, who officially supported him publicly.

Thousands of people attended the activity that took place in the Eugenio María de Hostos Park, located on George Washington Avenue in the capital.

“David, take me no further, leave me at 60,” Abinader shouted jokingly at his followers.

The PRM presidential candidate said that just as in the mayoralty of the National District at the hands of David Collado there was a “transparent management”, likewise his management will be characterized by bringing transparency to the government.

“Here is the generation that will bring transparency to the government, as David did in the mayor’s office,” said Abinader.

While Collado showed his support and directed words of flattery towards the presidential candidate of the PRM.

“I am here to say yes to the Dominican Republic, that David Collado supports the next President of the Republic, Luis Rodolfo Abinader,” he declared.

The event was attended by the former President of the Republic, Hipólito Mejía; the vice-presidential candidate for that party, Raquel Peña; the aspiring senator from the capital, Faride Raful; the president of the PRM, José Ignacio Paliza, and the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía.

The day Collado spoke …

On March 13 of this year, David Collado had to refer to the rumors circulated on social networks that he would have demanded several ministries to accept the vice-presidential candidacy with Luis Abinader and that when an agreement was not reached, he was not the companion ballot in the PRM proposal.

By denying that version, the mayor swore on his only daughter, Analía Collado, who demanded nothing in return to support the PRM candidates.

“The policy in which I believe is the policy of detachment, is the policy of opening the way without asking for anything in return and for this reason I certify and swear by my only daughter (six years old) that I have not asked for anything in return to support to the PRM ”, emphasized Collado in a speech at the closing of the campaign of the mayoral candidate, Carolina Mejía, to whom she expressed her support at the time.

Division is denied

On May 30, José Ignacio Paliza had assured that the leaders of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) were quite wrong if they believed that they would get a break from David Collado with the PRM.
