KOMPAS.com – Chief of Police Medan Kombes Riko Sunarko emphatically denied the statement by Bripka Ricardo, a drug accused who said he bought a motorbike as a gift for members of Kodam I/Bukit Barisan with bribes.

It is known, the news emerged during a drug case trial with witness Birpka Ricardo at the Medan District Court, Wednesday (12/1/2022).

At that time, Brigadier Ricardo admitted that he had received a bribe from the wife of a drug dealer in the amount of Rp. 300 million.

He admitted to sharing the bribe money with his superiors. According to him, Riko ordered him to use Rp 75 million to buy a motorbike.

The motorbike purchased from the bribe was given to a member of the TNI from the Koramil 13 Percut Sei Tuan who had contributed to thwarting the circulation of marijuana.

Riko said that the gift of the motorbike had nothing to do with the bribe money from the wife of the alleged drug lord named Jus.

“Where is there, where is there. Nothing, ah,” said Riko as quoted from Tribun-Medan.com, Wednesday (12/1/2022).

“That’s the case (bribery) at the end of June (2021). We gave the motorbike at the beginning of June. The date is already different. It’s impossible for us to use it,” continued Riko.

According to Riko, the gift for the TNI member used his personal money and had been paid in full.

“The price is not up to Rp. 75 million, Rp. 10 million more, a motorcycle,” he told reporters, Friday (1/14/2022).

Not only that, Riko also admitted that he did not know about the drug case handled by his subordinates.

“It was handled by the Narcotics Unit, three months ago it was reported to me. How do I want to distribute the money, the case was not reported to me,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Police North Sumatra Inspector General of Police Panca Putra Simanjuntak said he would not hesitate to take action Medan Police Chief Police Commissioner Riko Sunarko who is suspected of receiving a bribe of Rp. 75 million from a drug dealer.

“We will not hesitate to take firm action against the Medan Police Chief if it is proven that he has committed as described by the defendants,” said Panca in a written statement, Saturday (15/1/2022).

Panca admitted that he had formed a joint Propam and Criminal Investigation team to explore the information of the defendant in the drug case, Bripka Ricardo.

“Currently the team is working and we are waiting for the results,” he said.
