“Biden’s comments about Putin do not fit a head of state,” the Turkish president told reporters after Friday prayers in Istanbul. Al Araby, Saturday (20/3/2021).
On that occasion, Erdogan praised Putin for giving a “smart” and “classy” response.

Erdogan’s comments reflect a new spell of tension that has entered Ankara’s relations with Washington since Biden replaced Donald Trump at the White House in January.
Erdogan is still waiting for a phone call from Biden, whose government has highlighted Turkey’s deteriorating human rights record.
Turkey-US relations have also been hampered by Ankara’s purchase of S-400 air defense systems from Moscow, which Washington says threatens NATO defense.
