Callao plans to receive more than 70,000 tourists on the long Easter holiday

Activities began with the presentation of the Seven Potajes prepared by Chalaco cooks

The second most important religious celebration in the world began in the first port with the presentation of the Seven Holy Week Potajes of Callao and the wide offer in terms of tourism, well-being and gastronomy, which hopes to attract more than 70,000 tourists on the long holiday that it’s coming.

“The Callao region welcomes the more than 70,000 tourists who will visit our tourist sites and who will enjoy our cuisine on this long holiday,” said regional governor Ciro Castillo Rojo Salas.

He said that what is sought is to position Callao as a tourist destination during Holy Week, and that the target audience of Metropolitan Lima and visitors for long holidays, know the different options it has, for the enjoyment of its visitors.

“Callao meets all the conditions to be one of the most important destinations in the country in receiving tourists and we want it to become the showcase of the world. We have everything to become a port city of the highest level and that is what we will dedicate our efforts to”, he stressed.

The launch of the activity, carried out from the Roof Top of Casa Ronald, against the backdrop of an impressive view of the sea, the Real Felipe Fortress and the emblematic Mother Church, was extolled -in addition to the rich stews- with presentations of salsa, marinera and celebration dances.

In the event held by GORE Callao, through the Regional Economic Development Management, it also had the participation of well-known chefs from Chalaco and restaurants from the ARMAP Association (Association of Marine and Allied Restaurateurs of Peru), who prepared delicious dishes marines.
The restaurants Cocoliche, El Sabor de Miguelón, Ostería Del Porto, El Comedor, Barra D7 and Mateo were present in Callao.

Likewise, through a strategic alliance with the Municipality of Miraflores, and in order to promote Callao as a tourist destination, more than 60 residents of that district were invited.

Among the tourist places to visit on this long holiday are the Royal Felipe Army Museum, the Abtao Submarine Naval Site Museum, the Callao Mother Church, the Ronald Building, the Dock Dock, the Miguel Grau Square in Callao, the Palomino Islands (Swim with sea lions), Malecón Wiese, etc.
