Cuties, an originally French film (Cute), is about an 11-year-old girl who turns against her family and joins a twerking dance troupe. The film won the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award at the Sundance Festival at the beginning of this year. According to many of the petition’s signatories, that was not enough. Now that the film has been released, resistance is growing and users on Twitter are calling for a boycott of the streaming service. #CancelNetflix now houses more than a hundred thousand messages.
