Call of Duty: Warzone is back with single playfield and two game modes – Games – News

Activision has released Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera. This is the new name of the original Call of Duty: Warzone that has been made available again, although there are fewer playing fields and game modes. The successor of this battle royale game was released two weeks ago: Warzone 2.0.

The Warzone 1 servers went offline on November 16th and have since been back online. Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera is missing some previously available features. For example, there is only one playing field called Caldera. This means that the playgrounds Rebirth Island, Fortune’s Keep or the original Verdansk are not present. Fortune’s Keep was loved for its relatively small size. In the current Warzone 2.0, even such a small playing field is currently missing Activision suggested rather that this will change in the long run.

The original Warzone was somewhat notorious for being mixed over a period of time with different game modes that were and weren’t available. Initially, the game only had a mode for three-player squads, although this option has been removed for a while. Even the queues for one came later solomodus and, for example, teams of four players. Warzone Caldera only features solo mode and a four-player party queue.

Weapons, unlocked content, and progression from the original Warzone are retained, but the game doesn’t appear to be developed further. For example, there is no new battle pass, and unlocking content from previous battle passes is also no problem. Warzone 2.0 content will not be available. Even the updates don’t seem to come out anymore. Probably most of the time is spent on further development of Warzone 2.0.
