Call of Duty testers fired instead of pay raises

Among other things, this reports The Washington Post. The testers were previously said to have been told by Activision Blizzard that they would be joining a new partner, Volt, and would even receive a raise and various perks. Instead, they were fired yesterday. In any case, one QA employee stated that he was not aware of the round of layoffs in advance.

“I feel defeated. My friends from QA at Raven have been promised a new structure for months to get their wages up,” Raven community manager Austin O’Brien tweeted. “Today precious members of the team were called into meetings one by one and fired.”

Raven Software is one of the developers of Call of Duty: Warzone, a highly successful battle royale game. Controversy has therefore arisen on the internet about the fact that employees have been laid off instead of receiving the promised pay rise.
