Call of Duty may be forced to skip Game Pass “for a number of years”

This is due to the deal with Sony.

Microsoft has in the past spoken on how Activision Blizzard games will switch to Xbox Game Pass once the Big Deal ™ is concluded. However, there may be other sandwiches as well call of Dutythis according to a previous statement from the local top of Xbox: Phil Spencer.

The UK bankruptcy body Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has decided to further evaluate the operation and in a footnote (thanks, VGC) referred to an old tweet from Phil Spencer.

The deal between Activision Blizzard and Sony includes restrictions on Activision Blizzard’s ability to place Call of Duty titles on Game Pass for a number of years.

How many years “a certain number of years” is, however, remains to be seen. Microsoft criticized the CMA for completely swallowing Sony’s criticism, thus taking a stand for them and against Microsoft.
