California Rapper Killed in Pharmacy Robbery During Trip to New York; 4 young people accused and another is still a fugitive

Four men have been charged with the broad daylight murder of Californian rapper Avanti Frower inside a pharmacy in the Bronx (NYC).

Frowner, whose stage name was “Moneygang Vontae,” was shot to death after he and a friend were chased to the “Amazing Pharmacy” on Tremont Avenue on the afternoon of June 9 by four assailants trying to steal his gold chain, watch and other possessions.

“I was in New York to perform and needed medication at a pharmacy. He was shot to death in this senseless crime.”

“The defendants allegedly attacked two men, They stole money, their phones and jewelry,” Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said in a statement. “[Frowner] he was in New York to perform and needed medication at a pharmacy. He was shot to death in this senseless crime.”

Isiah Garrett, 24, Allan Algarin (23), Nayshon White (25) and teenager River Jones (18) were charged with murder, robbery and other charges, according to the prosecution. All four were remanded in custody and are due back in court on October 26.

The men robbed Frower and his friend and knocked the rapper to the ground. during the attack Frower was forced into the pharmacy at gunpoint and was shot multiple times in the torso.and then fled on foot, prosecutors said. The 27-year-old rapper was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital.
