California Governor Gavin Newsom on Monday ordered the state to close all bars, as well as the interior areas of restaurants, movie theaters, museums and other centers of leisure activities.

Newsom also announced the closure of non-essential gyms, hair salons, shopping malls, churches and offices for 30 counties in the state.

These are the 30 states that will be impacted by this last measure: Colusa, Contra Costa, Fresno, Glenn, Imperial, Kern Kings, LA, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Napa, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Benito , San Bernardino, San Diego, San Joaquín, Santa Bárbara, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tulare, Yolo, Yuba and Ventura.

The measures follow the rapid increase in the number of new cases that California has seen in recent weeks and that has positioned it as the second state in the country with the highest number of cases, only behind New York.
