Caledon Stop-Motion Animation Workshop

Caledon Residents Can Learn Stop-MotionAnimation at Free ⁢Workshop

A free workshop will teach participants‍ how to create their own 15-30 second stop-motion ⁣animations using 16mm film, offering⁣ a⁣ unique and accessible entry point ‍into filmmaking. The workshop, hosted as part of CaledonS Culture Days ⁣party, requires registration and is open⁤ to anyone interested‌ in exploring the art of direct animation.

Culture‌ Days, a national event celebrating arts, culture, and‍ heritage, ‍runs from September 19th to october 12th in Caledon. this workshop provides a hands-on possibility to learn techniques that‌ bypass traditional filmmaking requirements – no ⁣camera or developing chemicals are needed. ​Participants will learn to manipulate 16mm film through scratching,‌ painting, hole punching, and collage.

The ⁢workshop will be led by Mia, who will introduce the medium and demonstrate⁤ various techniques.⁤ Each participant will recieve a five-foot‍ strip of either black or clear 16mm leader to create their moving image. A scanned digital version ⁢of ⁣each completed film will be emailed to participants for sharing.
