Caleb Ewan was the big absentee in the top-10 of the bunch sprint on the second day of the Tour de France. Lotto Soudal’s Australian finished only thirteenth, and for a reason. “Someone drove my derailleur and it was broken,” he explains to CyclingFlash.
“After that my sprint was over”, said a disappointed Ewan. “It is an opportunity that I am now missing. That is frustrating. But now we’re going to look at tomorrow. The team was also good. I was well positioned all day and everything was going well until someone hit my derailleur.”
