CaixaForum Valncia works resume

The CaixaForum València construction works have been resumed and are currently proceeding normally. The works inside the Àgora building to build a new CaixaForum cultural center had started in March, and after a forced four-week hiatus during which non-essential work was not allowed, they have been able to resume.

To make this possible, the work has taken all the sanitary and worker protection measures established by the health authorities, following at all times all the health and safety protocols established by the regulations.

The investment of the “la Caixa” Foundation to make this long-awaited project a reality will exceed 19 million euros, to which is added an annual budget of about five million euros for the maintenance, programming and operation of the center.

The project presented by the architect Enric Ruiz-Geli and his Cloud 9 studio was chosen to build a new CaixaForum inside the Àgora building of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, the work of Santiago Calatrava. The project respects, enhances and coexists with the Àgora, maintaining its original concept as a space for reflection and a large open, public and highly active cultural area. It will have two exhibition rooms, an auditorium with capacity for about 300 people, a bookstore, a restaurant and a family and educational space, with a total of 6,500 square meters.
