CAF deepens the wounds of Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the African Champions League .. Details

The Confederation of African Football, “CAF”, has decided to open the club for the African Champions League clubs during the current football season.

CAF announced that the replacement door would be opened with a maximum of 4 players per team, provided that the replacement player never participated with his team, which deprives some clubs of benefiting from the substitution.

And comes on top of these Al Ahly clubs that after his full list witnessed the participation of all his players during the matches since the launch of the current version except for goalkeeper Sharif Ekrami.

It will be difficult to replace Al-Ahly, one of his players who is not registered with Sharif Ekrami, due to the difficulty of completing the competition with only two guards, Muhammad Al-Shennawi and Ali Lutfi, which means that Al-Ahmar will not benefit from opening the exchange.

The same is also true for Zamalek, who will not benefit from the substitution system much except in restricting players in place of Mahmoud Kahraba who left the team, and Ayman Hefni, and deprived CAF Zamalek to benefit from the registration of a player instead of Hamdi Al-Naqaz, who broke his contract with Al-Abyad.

The Tunisian Esperance and El Wedad Morocco clubs are the most benefiting from this decision issued by the African Union on opening the substitution system again after they concluded a series of strong deals during the ongoing Mercato Winter.
