This training is however very popular with students from Caen and elsewhere. They were 873 to apply in 2020 for… 20 places. A master’s 2 student in this specialty, Roxane praises “training that opens up many opportunities, in a psychiatric hospital, nursing home, prison or even liberal. The possible disappearance of this Master, for lack of a sufficient number of teachers, raises many questions and tensions.
“This lack of teachers does not date from today, notes a third year student, mouthpiece of the wrath of her comrades. We learn that the master is in difficulty, without clear communication. We don’t want to be faced with a fait accompli. “
Indeed already in tension, the formation undergoes “two unforeseen departures: a transfer and a promotion, notes Lamri Adoui. It will be necessary to recruit a holder, but in university, it takes a time to plan the hiring. If it is decided in 2021, it will be effective in 2022. “
We lack teachers!
One way to confirm the threat that hangs over the year 2021-2022. “There may be only two full professors next September. It’s a bit fair to supervise a master’s degree, ”agrees Roxane, who has heard her teachers speak out on the subject.
In the wake of the petition, doubts have swelled over the more unofficial reasons for the difficulties encountered by this course. “In Caen, the clinical master is taught with a psychoanalytic approach, explains the young master 2. However, lately, psychoanalysis is a little discredited by some people. Voices are campaigning for her not to be taught in college anymore. “

The bachelor student concedes: “Freud’s texts can be shocking. But the interest of such a teaching, it is precisely to allow to understand them well! “The president of the University recognizes that there are” internal debates around psychoanalysis and psychology in general, a living matter. “But he assures us” that no specialty has the will to dominate another. “
Elected at the end of 2020, Lamri Adoui and his team are preparing a multi-year plan on the training offer and its resources, until 2026. “We want to keep this master’s degree.
